Diversity and Inclusion

The ongoing policy of Women’s Impact, Inc. is to provide all employees, contractors, and members with an environment that is free from all forms of harassment or discrimination based upon race, color, ethnicity, religion, gender, national origin, immigration status, language, disability, ancestry, age, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, educational status, or other characteristics protected by applicable law.

Racial or ethnic harassment, for example, includes any non-consenting conduct based upon race, color, ethnicity, ancestry, or national origin that creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive work environment. Examples of prohibited harassment may include severe or persistent racial epithets, derogatory comments, “jokes” about a particular race or ethnicity, threats, pranks, vandalism, physical contact, verbal, graphic or written conduct based upon race or ethnicity.

Harassment prohibited by this policy also includes physical or verbal conduct that is related to an individual’s religion, disability, sexual orientation, or age with the purpose or effect of creating an intimidating, hostile or offensive environment, to substantially or unreasonably interfering with an individual’s work or participation in Women’s Impact, Inc., or otherwise adversely affects an individual’s employment or membership.

Women’s Impact, Inc. will not permit or condone harassment of, or discrimination against, an employee, contractor, or member based on any of the categories identified in the first paragraph of this policy by any other employee, or by any contractor, customer, visitor, or member, either on the job or in connection with participation in Women’s Impact, Inc.

An employee, contractor, or member who is subjected to harassment or discrimination violating this policy or witnesses the harassment or discrimination of another should submit detailed verbal and written reports of such matters to the President of Women’s Impact, Inc.

It is the policy of Women’s Impact, Inc. to investigate all complaints of harassment, discrimination, or unfair treatment thoroughly and promptly, and to keep such complaints confidential to the extent reasonably practicable. Your concerns will be heard, and every effort will be made to resolve the matter.

Any employee, contractor, or member found to have engaged in unlawful harassment or discrimination of another employee, or of a customer, contractor, visitor, or member of Women’s Impact, Inc., will receive prompt and appropriate disciplinary action, up to and including termination from employment or exclusion from membership.

No reprisal, retaliation, or other adverse action will be taken by Women’s Impact, Inc. against any employee or member because he or she, in good faith and without proven falsification, claims to be a victim of, or to have observed or heard, unlawful harassment on or in connection with the job or membership, or because such employee, contractor, or member assists in the investigation of any such matter.
