Social Media Policy

Women’s Impact, Inc. welcomes participation on its Facebook page and encourages people to interact often and to comment about the content found there.

Women’s Impact, Inc. does not discriminate against any viewpoints; however, administrators reserve the right to delete posts or block users who:

  • Use profane, defamatory, offensive, or violent language
  • Engage in “trolling,” or posting deliberately disruptive statements meant to hijack comment threads or throw discussions off-track
  • Attack specific groups or post comments meant to harass, threaten, or abuse an individual
  • Post hateful or discriminatory comments regarding race, ethnicity, religion, gender, disability, sexual orientation, or political beliefs
  • Provide links or comments containing sexually explicit content
  • Discuss illegal activity
  • Spam, engage in link baiting, or attach files containing viruses that could damage the operation of computers or mobile devices
  • Acknowledge intent to stalk an individual or collect private information without disclosure
  • Make commercial solicitations or promote or defame a competitor
  • Violate copyright or intellectual property rights
  • Release content that relates to confidential or proprietary business information
  • Post content determined to be inappropriate, in poor taste, or otherwise contrary to the purposes of the forum
  • Promote competing products, services, or brands
  • Solicit business or otherwise engage in personal promotion

In short: Be respectful. Be kind. Be professional. Add to the discussion. Help grow the Women’s Impact, Inc. community in constructive ways.

Please note: Women’s Impact, Inc. is happy to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of individual members; however, the organization does not promote, on its social media, the programming, events, or fundraisers of outside individuals and organizations. For example, the organization will post “congratulations to Jane Doe Member on chairing the ABC community event”; the organization will not post “buy your tickets to the ABC community event.”
