Stephanie Cargill assumes new role July 1

The Women’s Impact, Inc. Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Stephanie Cargill will become the next Executive Director of Women’s Impact, Inc. beginning July 1, 2024.

 Stephanie has been a member of Impact for six years, having served on the Board for more than three years. As executive director, Stephanie will be responsible for the operational management of the organization, building collaborative partnerships and relationships in the community, and implementing the organization’s strategic plan.

“On behalf of our board, I am thrilled to welcome Stephanie as our new executive director,” said Kalee Boyd, Chair. “She is passionate about our mission and brings a breadth of knowledge and experience in both the profit and nonprofit sectors. I am looking forward to working with her in this new capacity.”  

“I am delighted and honored to take on the role of executive director of Women’s Impact,” Stephanie said. “This organization plays such a key role in my life and in our community. I look forward to continuing to build upon the strong foundation that the board and Shelley have established.”

Most recently the Communications Director at Stark Library, Stephanie has spent her career as a communications professional in a variety of leadership roles. She has extensive experience in strategy, leadership, public relations, marketing, and communications. A lifetime resident of Stark County, she has served on various boards and committees in the community. She currently sits on the Board of Trustees of the Canton Ballet, volunteers and performs at many local theaters, and is a graduate of the 36th class of Leadership Stark County.

Stephanie succeeds Shelley Schweitzer, who is retiringSteph and Shell after more than eight years of service to Women’s Impact, Inc. “We are grateful for the time Shelley has invested in our organization,” reflected Vi Leggett, Immediate Past Chair. “Shelley has worked tirelessly and passionately to forward the mission of Women’s Impact and to grow and support our members.”

 “I am thrilled to be handing over the reins to Stephanie,” Shelley said. “Stephanie brings an energy and a passion to her work that will no doubt lead to continued growth while honoring those on whose shoulders we stand.” Shelley and Stephanie look forward to working together to ensure a smooth transition.
