DESCRIPTION:The Dialogue luncheon is a series that features Impact members who share their stories and engage in conversation with those in attendance. \nJoin us this month as Carrilyn Long shares her story. Carri has an extensive career in education – particularly higher education. \n \nCarrilyn Stevens Long graduated from Sandy Valley High School (Class of 1974) before receiving a bachelor’s degree in family and human ecology and education from The Ohio State University.  She also earned a master’s degree in social service administration from Case Western Reserve University and doctorate degree of Education -Administration Leadership for Teaching and Learning from Walden University with dissertation topic: “Perceptions of African American College Students and Faculty of the First-Year Seminar Course and Retention”. \nRecently\, Carrilyn continued her career path at the YWCA Canton as the assistant director of Early Head Start program as well as member of the Strategic Enrollment Admissions team at the Ohio State University.  Also\, she is currently the President and CEO of CEL Education Consultants. Her motto is “Be a Leader that Others Follow” and has written curriculum and presented at numerous leadership conferences. She believes that God has blessed each of us with gifts and talents to use for His service to make a difference in this world. \nCarri serves on the Women’s Impact Board of Directors and is very active in our community. \nAttendance is limited to 20.\nRegister Now!

She was responsible for connecting businesses with education systems as part of the team to expand the region’s talent development. Joyce is an accomplished\, results-oriented\, leader of two networking organizations:\nFor many years\, she has been the executive director of the North Canton Executive Networking Group (NCENG)\, a volunteer organization that trains and coaches unemployed and underemployed professionals to find optimal career opportunities.  She is also the franchise owner of local chapters of AmSpirit Business Connections\, which provide training and networking opportunities for entrepreneurs\, sales representatives and professionals to build their businesses and organizations through lasting relationships based on knowing\, liking and trusting each other. \nAs a certified public accountant\, Joyce had successful careers at Deloitte Touche accounting and consulting firm and at FirstEnergy where she worked for 27 years in auditing\, supply chain and project management. She led many cross-functional departments and teams that delivered savings\, improved productivity and managed risk for all aspects of the electric utility. \nJoyce has been a member of Women’s Impact for 11 years.
