The Women’s Impact, Inc. Signature Events encompass the organization’s commitment to education, connection and recognition. These premier events offer professional women in Greater Stark County opportunities to learn together, network with one another and celebrate the accomplishments of innovators and change agents in our midst.
Held each January, Women’s Impact, Inc. kicks off the calendar year with a luncheon that features a speaker who addresses a topic of interest to working women. Past speakers have included Caroline Gundeck, Managing Director of Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, on “Empowering Women to Give Back;” Dr. Lois Margaret Nora, MD, JD, MBA; President and Chief Executive Officer of the American Board of Medical Specialties who spoke on “Leading Across Generations;” and Teri A. Schindler, Executive Vice President, Davis Brand Capital speaking about “Ownership,” how we own our lives by embracing our choices and creating opportunities for ourselves. The Kick-Off Event is open to members and guests. Founder and Sustainer level investors are invited to a private pre or post-event conversation with the keynote speaker.
Women’s Impact Awards recognize people and organizations that exemplify the Women’s Impact, Inc. mission to help women unleash their power and realize their potential. Recipients are recognized for their commitment to the advancement of women. The award was established in 2017 marking the fifth anniversary of Women’s Impact, Inc. Members of the inaugural class are Kay Feagles, Founding Chair of Women’s Impact, Inc. and retired Certified Financial Planner ®, Raymond James Financial Services; Merle Griff, Ph.D., CEO and Founder, SarahCare Senior Solutions; The Honorable Judge Tayrn Heath, Court of Common Pleas; Sue Ramsey, retired, Women’s Basketball Coach, Ashland University; The Women’s Fund Endowment of Stark Community Foundation. The event is open to the public.
One day of learning; two great programs. Whether one attends the full day workshop or the Leadership Lunch alone, the Women’s Impact, Inc. Empowerment Day event provides practical tools and resources for professional growth. Continue the conversation over lunch. Together, in a supportive and safe environment, share experiences, struggles and encouraging words. Presenters have included Sheri Jeavons, President and Founder of Power Presentations Inc. on “Executive Presence for High Impact Meetings;” Lisa Waite, President of Waite Communications and Professional Development and Senior Lecturer of Communication Studies and Senior Facilitator, The Corporate University, Kent State University at Stark on “EmpowHERment” and “Tactical Solutions for Success.” The Empowerment Day Workshop and Leadership Lunch, held each September, is open to members and guests.
