Executive Director – Women’s Impact Inc.

Women’s Impact Inc. has created a new position of Executive Director that will be offered on an annual contract basis.  The Executive Director will develop the annual operating plan for the organization, with strategic direction from the Board of Directors; oversee execution of the annual plan; and manage day-to-day operations of the organization. This position provides a rewarding opportunity to work with professional women in furthering the mission of Women’s Impact Inc. (WI).

The Executive Director will report directly to the Chair of the Board of Directors (BOD) of WI and will work closely with members of the BOD and WI committees.

Responsibilities of the Executive Director position include:

  1. Develop an annual operating plan with strategic direction from the Board of Directors, and report to the BOD on the progress of implementation of the plan at regularly scheduled intervals determined by the BOD. Budgeting skills essential.
  2. Create and maintain a rich annual calendar of WI activities and initiatives – including events, membership recruitment and sponsor solicitation efforts – that implement the annual operating plan in an efficient manner and sustain the mission of WI.
  3. Work with committee chairs in scheduling meetings and ensuring that committee work plans are completed timely.
  4. Draft, edit and disseminate electronic and print communications, including social media and news releases, in coordination with board members and committee and event chairs.
  5. Coordinate logistics of events with guidance from event chairs/committees including reservations, seating, payments, advertising, printed materials, sponsorships, arranging for photographs and videography, and serving as liaison with event sites.
  6. Monitor the WI PO Box and email inbox and respond to inquiries in a timely manner as needed.
  7. Maintain the website (womensimpactinc.com) in coordination with marketing committee. Have a good understanding of and experience with computer technologies. Knowledge of HTML and WordPress a plus.
  8. Keep all organization records, files and materials in an orderly manner.
  9. Maintain checking account and financial records in accordance with WI bylaws and procedures.
  10. Make deposits to the WI checking account.
  11. Maintain membership database, including billing/payment of dues and processing new members.
  12. Maintain the Friends of Women’s Impact database and communications.
  13. Assist with planning board meetings; prepare board meeting agenda and disseminate board meeting minutes.
  14. Other duties as assigned.

 

The position’s work load will require approximately 20 hours per week, with some weeks heavier and some lighter. The position will pay $25,000 annually. As an independent contractor, the Executive Director will submit to the Board Chair an accounting of work activities on a monthly basis, and will receive payment on a monthly basis.

The right applicant will be driven and self-motivated; be able to work effectively with a volunteer BOD; be able to juggle multiple responsibilities and prioritize in accordance with deadlines; be able to communicate, write and edit well; have a good understanding and experience with computer technology, web site and social media management; have a flexible schedule and availability; have reliable access to an internet-connected computer; have own transportation.

The selected applicant will be required to enter a Contractor Agreement with WI.
